Barkers Handyman Express

About Barkers Handyman Express

Noon in July on Main Street: brick storefronts throwing short shadows, and the narrow strips of grass between sidewalk and curb going pale in the heat. Barkers Handyman Express takes on exactly those in-between pieces of Marshalltown — the parkway strip, the fenceline, the awkward square behind the garage. Mowing and string trimming, edging along walks and drives, and the clippings carried off instead of left to bake. Handled that way, the grass holds its color and the concrete keeps a clean, sharp margin straight through August. It is unglamorous work, and a whole block looks better for it.
