About A&J Enterprise

Indian Creek cuts a quiet seam through Marion, and on the coldest mornings A&J Enterprise is already working the streets that parallel it, headlights catching ice crystals suspended in the air over the water. The creek keeps its own microclimate — a little more frost, a little more fog — and the crew has learned to expect the first ice of the season along those low-lying blocks before it shows up anywhere else in town. From there the work fans out into the surrounding neighborhoods, driveway after driveway scraped clean and salted against the refreeze. There's a rhythm to working a town this size: the same creekside blocks first, then outward, then done before the school buses run. A driveway cleared before Marion's kids leave for school is a small, steady kind of pride.
