About Burns Inc

The Maquoketa River drops through the middle of Manchester in a run of small rapids, and on a hot afternoon half the town is down there standing in the water. Burns Inc spends those same afternoons on the yards above the river, mowing, trimming tight to retaining walls and fence corners, edging the sidewalks, clearing every surface before leaving. River-town lots run narrow and long, and the good ones reward an operator who takes the extra minute. Delaware County greens up hard in June and does not let off until well into fall. Keeping pace with that is a fair way to spend a summer.
