The North Skunk River slides past Lynnville beneath the old Wagaman Mill, and the town keeps something of that mill's patient, working spirit. Hackert Landscaping works both halves of the calendar in town, lawns and snow. In summer that means mowing yards so the grass lies even, trimming along walks and fence lines, and leaving each place looking tended. When the cold arrives and ice creeps out from the riverbanks, the work shifts to plowing drives and opening sidewalks. It is the cadence of a mill town: tend the green while it lasts, and open the path once it is gone.
