About Lewis Lawn & Labor

Lewis lies in the valley of the East Nishnabotna River in Cass County, a few minutes from the springs and woods of Cold Springs State Park. In May the river bottoms green up fast, and Lewis Lawn & Labor is out mowing and trimming yards as the grass comes on strong. The name tells the story: lawn work while it's warm, and labor of a colder kind when western Iowa storms bury the drives, plowing and shoveling until they're open again. A trimmed lawn in June and a cleared drive in January are two halves of the same work, keeping a home looking lived-in and loved. This little river town wears both well.
