Peterson Excavating

About Peterson Excavating

The day after a north Iowa storm often turns brilliant, the sky scrubbed blue and sunlight striking the fields around Kensett so hard you have to squint. Peterson Excavating spends its working life moving material, and in winter the material is the snow that buried town overnight. Its machines shove heavy banks aside and open driveways, lots and lanes with the care an excavator gives a grade. By early afternoon the dark pavement is drinking in that sun, and meltwater trickles toward the gutters. Watching a white town come back into use, yard by yard, never gets old.
