About Thome's Outdoor Services

Late August in Johnston still remembers the farm it was — corn stands in the unsold sections at the north edge, cicadas run their long note through the afternoon, and the subdivisions sit on soil that grew beans a generation back. Thome's Outdoor Services works the yards that took the place of those fields, mowing, trimming, edging, keeping the outdoor half of a property in hand. This is the stretch when growth slows and heat stress starts to show, and the difference between a good week and a rough one is a blade setting and a little patience. There is quiet pride in an August cut done right: consistent color, no scalped high spots, a clean seam where turf meets concrete. The corn will come off in October and the light will change, and the route rolls on either way.
