Frantum's Lawn and Landscape

About Frantum's Lawn and Landscape

October along the Beaver Creek greenbelt turns the bur oaks a slow rust, and for a few weeks the leaves come down faster than the grass grows. Frantum's Lawn and Landscape works the tail of the year in Johnston, when mowing shades into cleanup — the last cuts of the season, the beds cleared out, the yard put away before the cold sets its jaw. A raked lawn under bare trees has a particular look, plain and cared for, and it keeps that look for months. The rest of the year is steady rhythm: cutting, trimming, edging beds back to a firm shoulder, keeping the planting around a house looking deliberate. Light in this corner of Polk County goes low and long in autumn, and the work shows best in it.
