About Muir Tree Service

Long before the Mahanay Tower's bells carry across the courthouse square, Muir Tree Service is already working the oak-lined streets that ring downtown Jefferson, clearing driveways under branches gone bare and silver with frost. The North Raccoon River cuts its slow bend a few blocks west, and on the coldest mornings its fog drifts up into town and freezes fine on windshields and porch rails alike. This crew reads a driveway the way they'd read a tree line — where the drifts will bank, where the shade holds ice longest, where the sun never quite reaches until noon. By the time Greene County's farm trucks start rolling toward town for coffee, the walk to the door is bare pavement again. It's a small, exact kind of satisfaction: a clean edge where snow met concrete an hour before, gone.
