Prairie Cut Co.

About Prairie Cut Co.

The name is about the view, and a good yard still earns it: long grass, long light, wind crossing open ground with nothing to slow it. Prairie Cut Co. works into that late gold hour, mowing, edging and trimming until a yard reads as clean as the horizon behind it. Grass grows fast and lays over in the wind, which makes a straight cut a small act of defiance. The stripes hold until the next rain, and then it begins again. Prairie Cut Co. serves Iowa City and the nearby towns.
