About Spaans Landscape & Lawn Services

West of Inwood the land falls toward the Big Sioux River, the wooded valley that marks the line between Iowa and South Dakota, and in May the bottomland turns a green so new it nearly glows. In town, Spaans Landscape & Lawn Services carries that spring color into the yards, cutting and trimming until every lawn looks as fresh as the river flats. The work lives in the details: grass cut to an even height, beds and borders trimmed back, walks brushed bare after the mower passes. Spring in this corner of the state is brief and urgent, squeezed between a long winter and a hot summer, and a lawn in good order is a way of making the most of it. On a mild May evening, with the light lingering over the valley, a fresh-mown yard in Inwood is a pleasure to sit beside.
