The first mow of the Indianola year comes when the ground finally dries enough to hold a tire, usually somewhere in mid-April after the thaw has had its way with the gravel. Prime Lawn & Landscape starts there and carries the rotation out through the fall, mowing, trimming and edging on a steady turn. The hills east toward Ackworth make for uneven ground and yards that want a bit of reading before the first pass. Landscape work fills in around the mowing — beds cut and mulched, shrubs trimmed back, plantings set while the soil is still cool and willing. A yard that gets started right in April rarely gives anybody trouble in July.
