About Sno-Go, Inc.

The Maquoketa River runs dark and slow past Hopkinton in December, breathing vapor off its open water on the coldest mornings while the banks go white. Sno-Go, Inc. has its whole purpose spelled out in its name: when a storm drops its load on this Delaware County town, the snow gets moved. Picture the scene at dawn, the plow line drawn clean along a driveway, the walk scraped to bare concrete, the day's first footprints pressed into a path that is already open. Snow in eastern Iowa can come down heavy and wet or fine and blowing, and either way the aim is the same: a way out the door before the coffee is finished. In Hopkinton, that is how a winter morning ought to begin.
