About Hometown Lawn Care & Landscaping

Homestead is the southernmost of the Amana villages, brick and sandstone houses set close to the road, grapevines still trellised along the walls, and the interstate humming faintly off past the fields. Hometown Lawn Care & Landscaping mows and trims those yards through the Iowa summer, keeping the grass even against old foundations and the walks edged where the turf keeps trying to take them back. Landscape work in a village like this means respecting what is already standing, the big shade trees and the older plantings, and adding to them rather than over them. Autumn brings leaves off the hardwoods and the cutting back of everything gone brown; spring brings the first mowing and a good clearing out. Village yards, kept the way village yards ought to be kept.
