About Black Bear Tree Service

Black Bear Tree Service knows the cottonwoods along the West Nishnabotna the way most people know their own street — which limbs bow first under wet snow, which stretch of river bottom fills in fastest when the wind funnels down the valley. That same eye for the timber carries into winter, when the crew turns from trees to the driveways and lanes cut into those bottomlands south and east of Harlan. Snowmelt and refreeze move differently down in the valley than up on the flat cropground above it, and clearing a lane along the river means clearing it right the first time, not coming back for a second look. By the time the sun climbs over the valley rim, the low ground is passable and the high ground never had to wait on it. Being the outfit that already knows the land before the first flake falls counts for something out here.
