Lawns Plus Inc

About Lawns Plus Inc

First light in Grimes catches the newest edge of town first — young trees still staked, sod not yet fully knit into the yard, driveways poured within the last year or two — and that's where Lawns Plus Inc starts most mornings after a storm. Fresh subdivisions hold snow differently than older streets, with no mature windbreak of trees to slow the drift, so it piles hard against garage doors that have barely been used a winter season. The crew works these blocks in the order the houses went up, driveway by driveway, watching the town's edge push a little farther into what used to be open farm ground each year. There's a plain kind of pride in being the first tire tracks on a brand-new street after an overnight snow, before a single car has broken the surface. By midmorning, Grimes' newest residents step out to driveways already clear, one small thing about a new house that already feels taken care of.
