Cole Excavating

About Cole Excavating

The Shell Rock River slides past Greene without hurry, and on a still June morning its surface holds the whole sky like a dropped mirror. Cole Excavating carries the name of a business that works the ground itself, and in this Butler County river town it turns to the lawns: mowing, trimming and tidying until each yard lies smooth and calm. Turf mowed level across every rise and hollow, borders squared along the drive, the walk swept bare of clippings, and the finished lot looks as settled as the big trees along the bank. When neighbors drift outside on a summer evening, the green underfoot should feel as easy as the current. That is the standard, laid down a row at a time.
