J&J Lawn Care

About J&J Lawn Care

On the gravel roads outside Dyersville, the cornfields run right up to the ditch banks, and once the stalks come down in fall the wind has a clear run at every farmhouse lane between here and the timber along the Maquoketa bottoms. J&J Lawn Care plows those outlying driveways through the winter, working the rural routes that circle the town known well beyond Iowa for the ballfield cut into a cornfield nearby. Snow out here tends to arrive quiet and stay heavy, drifting across open fields until a lane disappears into the same white as everything around it, and the crew runs those routes early enough to have them open before chores start. Sidewalks and driveways in town get the same attention, blade and shovel working the shorter, tighter runs along Dyersville's residential streets. By the time the sun is up, the routes the company cleared are the only dark lines cut through a white morning.
