About Arty's Lawn Care LLC

October is Catfish Creek's month. The oaks above the Mines of Spain go rust and copper, the creek runs low and clear toward the Mississippi, and every yard on the south side of Dubuque fills with leaves that arrive faster than anyone can keep up with. Arty's Lawn Care LLC works that stretch of the year hard — the last mows of the season set low, the leaf work done in passes rather than one hopeless push, beds cleared and edged before the ground goes hard. There's a particular pleasure in the final cleanup of the fall: bare turf, sharp bed lines, a lawn put to bed for winter and ready to come back green. Through the growing season it's the steady weekly rhythm, mowing and trimming, keeping ahead of the growth the Driftless hills seem to encourage.
