American Pride Lawn Care

About American Pride Lawn Care

Downtown Dubuque wakes early in June — the bandstand in Washington Park still in shade, the brick streets cool, the grass around the square heavy with dew that will burn off by nine. American Pride Lawn Care keeps its hours on that side of the morning, mowing before the heat sets in and coming back through with the trimmer so every fence post and hydrant gets its own tidy circle. There is real satisfaction in a lawn that has been cut in the cool: the blade cuts cleaner, the color holds, and the yard looks watered even when it hasn't rained. Weeds get handled before they set seed, and the feeding schedule follows the season rather than the calendar. It is ordinary work done attentively, and it shows from the sidewalk.
