About 1 Call Groundskeeping

Dubuque stacks itself in layers, and the yards above Fourth Street sit on the highest one, where the Fenelon Place cable cars creak up the limestone and the whole river valley opens out below. 1 Call Groundskeeping works those bluff-top lots and the flatter ones down in the valley alike — mowing on the pitch, trimming the awkward corners no wide deck will ever reach, edging a clean line where turf meets sidewalk. A late-summer afternoon up there is all warm stone and long shadow, and a lawn that has just been cut looks like it belongs to the view. The name is the whole idea: one call, and the grass gets the attention it has been asking for since the weekend. By evening the clippings are gone, the beds are squared off, and the property looks settled again.
