About Legacy Yard Co LLC

Down at the river bend by Birdland, the levee path runs beneath old cottonwoods while the Des Moines River takes its slow turn south. Legacy Yard Co LLC keeps yards in the neighborhoods along it, and the work has a handed-down feel — the same lot mown the same careful way it was mown last summer, and the summer before. First frost usually lands in October, and after it the leaf work begins in earnest: raking out fence lines, clearing beds, hauling the piles off so nothing smothers the grass underneath. Cut short and cleared bare, a lawn goes into the cold ready to come back. Then the ground locks up, the route rests, and it all begins again in April.
