About Denison Hardscapes Inc.

Denison's residential streets climb and dip more than most western Iowa towns, built into hills rather than laid out flat, so a lot of the driveways and walkways here already run along some kind of grade before a single flake falls. Denison Hardscapes Inc. spends its summers setting stone patios and retaining walls into those hillside yards, and its winters digging the same walkways back out from under whatever the wind piles against them. The crew works those properties in the cold months the same way it works them in summer — by the actual lines of the stone and concrete, not by guesswork under a foot of snow. There's a particular satisfaction in exposing a paver walkway exactly where it was laid, edges crisp again after being lost under white for a week. It's steady, physical work fitted to a town built into hills rather than around them.
