About Andy's Landscape & Hardscape Services

The patios and walkways Andy's Landscape & Hardscape Services lays down each summer around Dallas Center spend a good stretch of winter buried under whatever blows in off the open fields toward the Raccoon River valley. Come first snowfall, the same crew that set the pavers turns to digging them back out, along with the driveways and front steps of a town that's grown busier every year as Des Moines pushes its edges further west. There's a particular satisfaction in uncovering a stone patio exactly along its built lines rather than guessing at the edge under a foot of snow. The grain elevator still marks the middle of Dallas Center the way it always has, streets radiating out from it into newer subdivisions, and the plow routes have grown right along with them. It's practical work, built on knowing a property's hardscape well enough to clear it without damaging it, in a town caught between its farm-town past and its newer, faster-growing edges.
