About Kurt's Enterprises

South of Clinton the road runs out toward Camanche with the river on one side and wide flat ground on the other, and September lays a long gold light over all of it. Kurt's Enterprises works both ends of that stretch, mowing the deep lots and open frontages that need a machine with some appetite. Fall cutting is a different animal than June — slower growth, heavier dew, mornings that ask you to wait an hour for the blades to bite clean. Done right, the ground comes out level and firm, ready for the first hard freeze to arrive. It is unglamorous work, and it is deeply satisfying to look back across when it is finished.
