Legends Farm and Lawn

About Legends Farm and Lawn

South of town the streets give out into gravel section roads, and around Centerville the line between a yard and a bean field is more of a handshake than a fence. Legends Farm and Lawn keeps that line honest. Here the grass grows the way the row crops do — slow through a cold April, then all at once the week the rains come warm — so mowing, trimming and steady lawn upkeep are a matter of showing up on the rhythm the ground sets. Machines roll early, before the afternoon heat stacks up over the rolling southern-Iowa ridges and the dust hangs gold behind a pickup. What's left at day's end is a farmstead lawn cut level and clean right up to where the field begins.
