About Slaymaker Landscaping

A retaining wall built into a slope holds its shape whether it's June or January, but the stone steps and paths Slaymaker Landscaping sets into these yards take on a different kind of risk once ice gets into the joints. Clearing a landscaped yard means working around raised beds, low walls, and paths that curve instead of running straight — the same features that make a yard interesting in summer are exactly what a plow can't touch in winter. This is hand work more than machine work, a shovel and a broom along stone laid to be walked barefoot in July and now walked safely in a boot come February. The yards themselves hold their design under the snow, walls and beds showing as gentle shapes in the white even when nothing green is left to mark them. Getting the path clear without disturbing the stone it's set into is less about speed than about knowing exactly what's underneath.
