Greg's Lawn & Landscaping

About Greg's Lawn & Landscaping

Cedar Rapids lost most of its tree canopy to the derecho, and the city has been putting it back one young trunk at a time ever since, which means a great many yards here are growing up in more sunlight than they have had in fifty years. Greg's Lawn & Landscaping works those changed yards: mowing on schedule, trimming and edging, refreshing the beds and mulch around new plantings, hauling off what the season drops. August light out here is enormous and unforgiving, and turf that used to live in shade asks for a different kind of attention now. It is slow, hopeful work, matching a lawn to a neighborhood still growing back into itself. The saplings will be shade again one day; in the meantime, the grass gets tended.
