About VPM Lawn & Snow

Big Woods Lake freezes hard north of town, and by February the plow banks along the roads out that way stand shoulder-high. VPM Lawn & Snow works both ends of the Cedar Falls year: snow removal after a storm has closed the driveways overnight, mowing and trimming once the same ground turns green again. Four in the morning with headlights on falling snow is a particular kind of quiet, and it is where a lot of the work gets done. Opening a drive before somebody has to leave for the day is the point, and it feels like it. Then June arrives, the machines change, and the streets fill with the smell of clippings.
