About Walker Outdoor Services

Late in October the bluff at Crapo Park turns gold and then lets it all go at once, and for three weeks the lawns below vanish under oak and maple. Walker Outdoor Services arrives in that long slanting afternoon light to get leaves off the turf before they mat down and smother it, corners and fence lines cleared, the final cut of the year taken low so the grass goes into the freeze standing upright. The rest of the season keeps a steadier beat: mowing on a set day, string trimming, edges held honest along drives and sidewalks. There is a particular satisfaction in the moment a buried yard reappears green underneath, with the river running dark past the park below. By November the lawns are bare, tidy and ready to sleep.
