Rays Lawn Care

About Rays Lawn Care

West of Boone, the Kate Shelley High Bridge carries trains far above the Des Moines River valley; it bears the name of the local girl who went out into an 1881 storm to warn of a washed-out bridge. Back on the level ground of town, Boone's lawns keep time with the Iowa calendar: a late green-up after the snow melts, a surge of growth in May and June, and a long, warm summer of steady mowing. Rays Lawn Care looks after yards across Boone, holding grass to a consistent length and squaring the edges along sidewalks and drives. By midsummer, when the corn stands tall past the edge of town, a newly mown yard looks like a small, well-kept field of its own. Every lawn on a Boone block, finished right, is a little prairie brought to order.
