Ten miles down Highway 61 southwest of Davenport, Blue Grass keeps to the quieter, wide-open farmland that gave the town its name — grass once trampled to a bluish tint along the old trail between the Mississippi and the Cedar River, long before any of these roads were paved. Delf's Landscape & Irrigation clears driveways and lanes out here where houses sit farther apart than they do in town, covering more ground between stops than a denser route would ever require. Snow that falls overnight tends to sit undisturbed until the crew arrives, since there's little traffic this far out to pack it down before morning.
