About Lance-Scapes LLC

Main Street in Belle Plaine still follows the old Lincoln Highway alignment, the same route that once carried the first transcontinental auto traffic past Preston's Station and the storefronts that grew up around it. Lance-Scapes LLC works that corridor after a storm, clearing the sidewalks and lot entrances block by block so the shops along the highway can open on time. Snow tends to drift hardest in the doorway recesses along that stretch, where the old brick fronts break the wind just enough to let it dump its load rather than carry it through. A shovel crew handles what the plow can't reach into those recesses, working the block in the hour or two after the trucks have come through. It's a short stretch of highway with a long history, and keeping it walkable in January is a small, practical way of keeping it in use.
