Highway 151 runs southwest out of Anamosa toward Marion and Cedar Rapids, and by the first warm week of the year every yard along it wakes up at once. Ryan's Repair CR meets that week head-on: winter litter raked off, first cuts laid down, edges re-cut where the sod crept out over the concrete. From there the season settles into rhythm — mow, trim, edge, come back. The machines are kept running and kept sharp, because a clean cut starts with a sharp one. By the time the dew burns off, a yard looks like the season has genuinely begun. The route covers Anamosa, Martelle and Springville and carries on toward the Cedar Rapids side of the county.
