About Cy's Tree Service

The Wapsipinicon moves slow past Anamosa under bur oak and silver maple, and river-bottom trees grow tall, fast and heavy here. Cy's Tree Service works that valley and the limestone town above it — pruning the maples that shade the porches, lifting limbs off garage roofs, thinning box elder and willow before wind and high water put them down for you. Summer storms come up the valley in a hurry, and when one leaves a trunk across a driveway the day goes to cutting, dragging and stacking until the yard reads as a yard again. Removals in tight backyards go down rope by rope, with the fence and the flower bed still standing at the end. It is plain work, and the result is a tree that carries its own weight and a lawn you can mow that same afternoon.
