About Sabus Lawn Care

On the north edge of Ames, where Somerset and the newer additions run out to meet open ground, the lawns are young — thin in spots, still deciding what they are. Sabus Lawn Care spends June mornings out there while the sprinklers are still ticking and the grass throws off that cut-hay smell within a stride of the mower. Mowing on a steady cycle, trimming and edging around the walks, fertilization and weed control to push the thin patches shut, aeration and overseeding to give the roots somewhere to go. A new lawn asks for patience more than anything; a season of the right care and the seams disappear. Then it is just green, corner to corner, the way the owner pictured it the day the sod went down.
