About Lawnline

Fog settles into the Ioway Creek bottoms most summer nights and hangs there until the sun clears Main Street and burns it off. That is the hour Lawnline likes best — grass still cool, the first pass laid down straight enough to sight along like a chalked string. The work is mowing, trimming and edging, fertilization and weed control, aeration and overseeding, plus the cleanups that bracket an Iowa year. An edge cut clean along a sidewalk holds its shape all week, and there is a plain satisfaction in turf that stops exactly where it is supposed to stop. By the time Ames is properly awake the mower is a street over, and the yard behind looks like nobody was ever in it.
