About Dan's Custom Landscapes

Some of the prettiest ground in Ames sits on the slopes west of the creek, where lawns step down toward the street beneath trees older than the houses they shade. Dan's Custom Landscapes builds and keeps yards on exactly that kind of terrain — mowing across grade, trimming along stone and step, edging beds so their shapes stay legible from April to November. Custom means the lawn is fitted to what the site actually is: pitch, shade, drainage, the way water travels after a June downpour. Cleanups open the beds when the frost lets go and strip the leaves off before anything sits wet through the cold. The result is a yard with real structure, one that still looks composed in the bare weeks of March.
