About Jake’s Outdoors

There's a half hour just after sunrise when the dew hasn't burned off the low ground and every lawn in town looks silver. Jake's Outdoors waits that out — wet grass cuts ragged — and then gets going: mowing, trimming around trees and posts, edging the concrete, and hauling away debris in the spring and fall sweeps. When a summer day opens cool and ends humid, the work gets front-loaded and the afternoon belongs to the heat. A yard finished by noon, smelling like cut grass, every line running the same direction, is a decent way to spend a morning. Altoona is the base, with yards in the nearby towns as well.
