Grass Masters

About Grass Masters

Kossuth is the biggest county in Iowa, a wide grid of section roads under more sky than most places get, and Algona sits at the middle of it. Grass Masters covers that ground at midday when the wind runs hard across the open and the shelterbelts are the only thing standing in its way. Big yards, small yards, town lots and farmsteads — each one gets mowed to a set pattern so the turf is not always leaned the same direction. Trimming follows the fence wire and the foundation, edging squares the drive, and everything loose gets blown off the concrete before the trailer ramps go up. Out here a well-cut lawn can be seen from a long way off, and that is exactly the idea.
