The Raccoon River Valley Trail runs straight through Adel along an old rail bed, packed hard with bike traffic all summer and then going pale and quiet the moment the first real snow covers it in November. Outland doesn't touch the trail itself, but plenty of homes backed up against that corridor need their own stretch cleared just the same — driveways that dead-end where the old rail grade begins, walks running parallel to the fence line. Getting those done early means working while the trail is still just a blank white seam through town, no footprints on it yet, nothing moving but the plow. It's a quiet way to start a storm day, one that makes the rest of the route feel manageable.
