About Legacy Outdoors

October comes into Adel from the northwest, and the oaks along the county blacktop start letting go a few leaves at a time. Legacy Outdoors works those short bright afternoons, mowing what is still growing and gathering what has already fallen into the low corners of the yard. A fall cut is a different animal than a July one — slower, cleaner, more about leaving the lawn ready for what follows than about keeping up. Beds get trimmed back to a firm line, walks get cleared, and the wind that scattered everything gets a little of it back in order. Standing at the end of a yard in that slanting light, with the grass tight and the leaves gone, is about as good as the work gets.
