About Desy's Lawn and Landscaping

By late August the corn along the Adel blacktops stands taller than a truck cab and the heat sits over town in a shimmer you can see down the road. Desy's Lawn and Landscaping works the shade side of the yard first and saves the open ground for whatever breeze the afternoon offers. Lawns slow down in that dry stretch, so the cut goes a little higher and the trimming gets more careful — pulling weeds back off the fence, tightening the line around the sweet-corn stand at the drive. It is honest work in full sun, with cold water in the cooler and grass dust on everything. The payoff arrives at dusk, when the yard looks even and calm and the town smells like somebody's grill.
