Adel Tree

About Adel Tree

Below Adel's bluffs, the Raccoon River bends through stands of cottonwood and bur oak that hold their own kind of cold — river-bottom timber that shades the snow long after the open fields around it have gone bare and brown again. Adel Tree works the properties tucked back against that timberline, where driveways wind between trunks and a plow has to thread as carefully as a delivery truck. Clearing those drives before dawn means working by headlamp under bare branches, listening to river ice creak somewhere below the bank. It's a different kind of snow job than the open square in town — narrower, shadier, slower to melt — and there's a particular pride in getting every one of those river-bottom lanes open before the first car needs to leave.
