About Aina Yard & Maintenance Services Inc.

Anyone who has held a trimmer in Waikoloa Village at two in the afternoon knows the wind that pours down off the saddle between Kohala and Maunakea. Aina Yard & Maintenance Services Inc. plans around it: mow with it, edge across it, bag the clippings before they take a trip toward the highway. After the winter Kona rains the slope greens up all at once and every lawn needs cutting the same week; through the dry stretch the work turns to trimming, tidying and keeping a yard neat under a hard sun. The crew leaves a straight line where turf meets walkway and a driveway swept down to the concrete. Week after week, on a hillside that never makes it easy, that steadiness is the whole point.
