About Allen's Tree Services

Rain arrives in Pāhoa in warm sheets off the ocean, and by the time it lifts, Puna has grown another few inches into the yard. Allen's Tree Services keeps pace with that — the albizia that shot up over a carport, the ʻōhiʻa leaning toward a tin roof, the green edge of a lot creeping back toward the house. Pruning in this district is a matter of weight and timing: take the load off long limbs while the wood is still sound, so a windy night stays just a windy night. When a storm crosses Leilani, Nānāwale or the lots along Highway 130, the drive gets cleared first, then the roof, then everything else. Removals come out in sections over lava rock and narrow lanes, and the light that pours into the gap afterward changes the whole feel of the place.
