About Island Ohana Tree Service LLC

Early light in Pearl City comes up over the harbor and slides inland, catching the ridges of Pacific Palisades as they climb toward the Koʻolau. Island Ohana Tree Service starts the day on those slopes and on the flats below, where mango, plumeria and old shower trees crowd the property lines. The work is shaping and thinning — pruning back what hangs over a neighbor's wall, easing branches away from the eaves, taking a crown down in stages when a tree has outgrown its patch of ground. Wind funneling down the Waiawa side has a way of finding the weak fork first, so after a blow they haul out what broke and sweep the carport and driveway clean. By afternoon the trades are moving through the leaves again and there is room to stand under the canopy.
