Hawaiian Turfgrass

About Hawaiian Turfgrass

On the Leilehua Plateau the day opens cool, the trades sliding down off the Ko'olau while the red dirt still holds the night's damp. Hawaiian Turfgrass is a lawn care business working those central Oahu yards — mowing, edging and trimming grass that grows on old pineapple ground. A plateau lawn cut even and low is a fine thing to look at, every blade leaning one way in the wind so the whole yard shows a single grain. Clippings come off the walk before the truck moves on, and the line where turf meets driveway is left straight enough to sight along. Mililani is home ground, with the neighboring central Oahu towns close enough to reach before the heat comes up.
