About Lau landscaping

Between December and spring the channel off Kihei fills with whales, and half the town keeps one eye seaward while the other half keeps mowing. Lau landscaping is in the second group, working the yards above Cove Park and the little streets that dead-end at the sand. Lawns get cut to an even height, edges drawn along the concrete, hedges brought back so the view stays a view. Salt air is rough on plants and on equipment, so the routine stays simple and frequent instead of occasional and drastic. Come back the next week and it looks the same — which, in yard work, is the highest compliment available.
