About Pua Lani Landscape Design

A garden up in the Keolu Hills begins on paper — where the shade falls at three o'clock, which slope the water runs off, where a person would actually want to stand. Pua Lani Landscape Design draws those plans, puts the plantings in the ground, and then keeps the lawn mowed and edged so the design holds its lines as everything fills out. Spring on the windward side does the growing for you; the craft is deciding what gets room and what gets held back. Beds curve, grass answers them, and by the second season the whole yard looks inevitable, as though it grew that way on its own. Watching a drawing turn into a place someone lingers in is the reason for the drawing.
